Mamady Keita is one of the world's foremost experts of the traditional West African djembe, a true master drummer who represents the Malinke culture and rhythms. Mamady is widely recorded and has produced a volume of instructional, performance, and educational media to accurately share the drum rhythms and dance cultures of his people. Each CD, DVD, or book is of top quality in terms recording, editing, production, and pedagogy.
While there are many able instructors who have studied with African master drummers, some of whom have produced instructional materials, we recommend direct instruction from Mamady or other masters in person, or through their original instructional and performance media.
