IVORY COAST DJEMBE 16"X25"

This 16" Ivory Coast djembe is very oversize, too large for most adult men and women. This djembe is suited for taller drummers with larger hands, or who have a well-developed djembe technique level who are certain a 16" djembe is what they need/want to fit their playing style. Oversize drums such as this require more energy to play, as well as more tension to get an ideal sound. The sound quality is typically very warm, full, semi-wet, and very loud with great projection.

Our highly-experienced carvers uses traditional methods to create a professional quality shell using solid Iroko wood, custom carved to our specific guidelines for dimension and thickness. The proportions are exact, the shell is of uniform thickness, the bowl is rounded inside and out, and the bearing edge is gently curved for optimal sound quality.
