The Tourist Djembe by Africa Heartwood Project is designed to offer a budget drum for the home decor buyer, or drummer whose emphasis is more on the looks of the drum than its virtues as a quality musical instrument. These drums are typical of what you would find at an open-air market in Ghana, are likely the type of drum-souvenir most tourists take home with them after a holiday in Ghana, and is similar to most drums exported from Ghana. The size is standard for an adult drummer, about 12-13" head X about 24" tall. This particular model features a nice reddish stain, deep carved elephant, with hair left on the skin (provides a unique, softer playing sound), and black rope.
