- Carved from one piece of solid Dugura hardwood by skilled cultural artisans using traditional methods.
- Wood seasoned and handcarved in Senegal, West Africa, hydrated with lots of karite (shea butter) and coconut oil
- Thick goat skin from Mali, wet shaved and hydrated with a bit of shea butter
- 5mm black mix low-stretch drum rope for the 33 pairs of vertical ropes, first row of tuning started
- 4mm navy drum rope for top and bottom loops, single hitch loop pattern on bottom ring
