ELEMENTARY MEGA WEST AFRICAN CLASSROOM DRUM PACKAGE (K-6)

The Elementary Mega West African Drum Package is a versatile package suited for classroom drumming with children from K-6th Grade. It includes instruments for 35 students, including three sizes of handcarved African djembes, a full set of dunun, and a variety of hand percussion. This package also offers training materials for how to start a classroom drumming program, including drum circle how-tos, notated African drum rhythms, and DVD showing parts for traditional West African drum ensembles. Students will appreciate the value of learning about and playing on hand made instruments from Africa, which provide authentic, rich sounds and a springboard for discovery about the culture and people that made them.

Drum size note: The smaller 9x18" and 10x20" djembes are the correct size for younger kids to play properly, and can be held up off the floor with older studetns. The larger 11x22" djembes are ideal for the older students, but can also be playing by younger children who sit on top of the drum laid on its side.
