Each year, at the end of May, the Marrakech Festival brings together the best of Berber singers. To the rhythm of bendir and tissint, underlined by the sounds of the high flute, the voices rise, singing of legends, weddings, and promises of peace, or accompanying ecstatic dances. An account, recorded in 1976, of the exceptional beauty of the oral tradition of Berber songs.
