| This never before recorded group introduces us to the village music of the Segou Bamana. Previously reserved for weddings, ceremonies and celebrations, the Bari Ensemble brings us a musical insight into the incredibly rhythmic nature of the Bamana people. These songs tell the stories of farmers who live by the rain, with dedications to such social groups as the blacksmiths and the comedians, as well as proverbs to guide the people. Featuring Abdoul Doumbia, playing in his home village of Zambougou Fouta. Recorded at a high level of sound quality, the full depth of this wonderful music can be heard and enjoyed. |
