It is about an amazing meeting between Dialy Mady Cissiko, Senegalese griot and Kora player, and three French musicians : Noël Pelhâte (saxophone tenor), David Henriot (double-bass) and Jean-Marie Henry (percussion). The originality of this work appears in the efforts made to approach and respect the Mandingo musical culture. The musicians progress according to the basis set by Dialy Mady Cissoko so as to integrate without deteriorating Mandingo traditionnal surroundings. A fruitful musical interbreeding leading to a harmonious whole, Kambé Quartet represents also the hearty exchanges and the magic of improvisation.
